Handsome Young Red Male Australian Cattle Dog for Adoption in Hyde Park, New York
The following dog is not part of the ACDRA program. This dog is being listed as a service in the hope of aiding with placement.
UPDATE FROM THE SHELTER: Peppy has become so docile and cuddly! He just wants to be with his person. Don't miss out on meeting this delightful dog!
An ACDRA volunteer evaluated Peppy, a 2 year old red male ACD that came in as a stray, at the Dutchess County SPCA in Hyde Park, NY. She thought Peppy was a wonderful dog and highly adoptable!
Notes From the Evaluation:
While I was filling out the evaluation in the play area with him, he insisted on putting his front paws, legs and head in my lap, give me kisses. If I was sitting on the ground he would have put his whole body in my lap. I tried pushing him off and he would happily bounce back up and give me more kisses, after the third time telling him no and off, he walked away to play with a toy a bit.
He greets everyone with a hug. He likes jumping up to greet people. He is gentle but would probably be too active for a very young child. A lot of dogs were being walked by as we were outside and he was very focused on them, usually bark whining at them as they passed by. His tail was wagging the whole time and relaxed.
He is a medium energy dog, that needs exercise, physically and mentally, but can be easily managed. I would take him home myself if I could. He is fully vetted, neutered, and micro chipped.
